FlagshipFlagship · 56 Passengers
Prevost H3-45
The H3-45 is the coach the touring industry measures everything else against, and we are proud to be the choice of the Kansas City Chiefs. A stainless steel structure and a Volvo D13 engine give it a quiet, planted ride, and its 460 cubic feet of underfloor storage is the most luggage room of any coach in its class. The 2023 redesign added a sleeker body, brighter cabin lighting, and a wider curved entry door.

How Charter Pricing Works
Rates change with the trip, and that is not a dodge. Here is exactly what shapes your number, so you know what to expect before you call.
Distance & Hours
Every trip is priced on the miles you travel and the hours the coach is with you, whether that is 15 miles across the metro or 500 miles across the country. Most local charters carry a five-hour minimum.
Group Size & Coach
A 56-passenger H3-45 and a 55-passenger X3-45 carry different rates. For most groups, one coach beats coordinating a fleet of vans on cost and on hassle. Tell us your headcount and we will match you.
Season & Timing
Spring weddings, summer travel, and fall football fill the calendar fast across Kansas City. Booking early buys you availability and flexibility, not just a better number.
Multi-Day Add-Ons
Overnight trips include the driver's lodging, which we fold into the quote. Tolls and parking are passed through as incurred. Driver gratuity, usually 10 to 20 percent, is customary and separate.
One All-In Number
Your driver, fuel, commercial insurance, and every standard amenity arrive in a single quote. No fuel surcharge after you sign. No surprise fee the morning of the trip.

Across Town or Across the Country
Some charters are a fifteen-mile loop to Arrowhead. Others run Kansas City to Branson, Chicago, or Nashville and back. We hold the interstate authority to go anywhere in the continental US, and we plan the route, the fuel stops, and the relief driver before your group ever boards.
On the long ones, the X3-45 earns its keep. The smoothest ride in the class, the tallest ceiling, and a restroom on board mean your people step off rested instead of wrung out.

A Kansas City Company, Not an Out-of-Town Broker
When you book with Crossroad Tours, you work directly with the owner and the team that maintains, drives, and stands behind every coach. No middlemen, no call centers. Just a Kansas City company that has taken pride in the ride since 1936.
Meet the TeamPickups Across the Kansas City Metro
We pick up across Olathe, Overland Park, Lee's Summit, Independence, Lawrence, and the greater KC area, and we know the venues your group is headed to: Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums, the Convention Center, the Country Club Plaza, Union Station, and KCI Airport.
Charter Bus Questions, Answered
How much does it cost to rent a 56-passenger charter bus in Kansas City?
Charter rates are not one-size-fits-all. Your number depends on the miles traveled, the hours the coach is with your group, the coach you choose, and the season. Most local rentals run on a five-hour minimum. Tell us your dates, headcount, pickup, and destination and we will give you one all-in number, upfront.
Is the driver included in the price?
Always. Every Crossroad Tours rental includes a professionally licensed, CDL-certified, background-checked driver. You never drive the coach. Your only job is to board on time.
What exactly is included in the quote, and are there hidden fees?
Your quote covers the coach, the driver, fuel, and commercial insurance. On a Prevost motorcoach, Wi-Fi, power at every seat, the restroom, reclining seats, and the luggage bays are standard equipment, not add-ons. On overnight trips the driver's lodging is included. Tolls and parking are passed through at cost, and gratuity (typically 10 to 20 percent) is customary and separate. Everything is spelled out in writing before you sign.
Is there a minimum number of hours, even for a one-way shuttle?
Most local charters have a five-hour minimum. Longer or multi-day trips are priced by the day or by the mile, depending on the itinerary. Share your schedule and we will structure the pricing to fit it.
Can the bus travel out of state, like Kansas City to Branson, Chicago, or Nashville?
Yes. We hold interstate operating authority and our coaches travel anywhere in the continental United States. Branson, Chicago, Nashville, and longer runs are routine for us. For trips beyond a single driver's legal hours, we plan the route and the relief driver ahead of time so the wheels never stop on schedule.
On a multi-day trip, do I pay for the driver's hotel, and will we need a second driver?
Driver lodging on overnight trips is folded into your quote, so there is no surprise expense on the road. Federal Hours-of-Service rules cap how long one driver can be behind the wheel in a day. For long cross-country legs that exceed those limits, we add a relief driver and tell you about it before you book.
Are you the company that owns the buses, or a broker that subcontracts?
We own them. Crossroad Tours owns, maintains, and drives every coach in our fleet out of the Kansas City metro. When you call, you reach the people accountable for your trip, not a call center booking whichever bus is cheapest that week.
Are you licensed and insured? What is your USDOT number?
Yes. We operate under USDOT #87631 and MC #197923, carry full commercial liability coverage, and are approved by the Department of Defense and certified by MoDOT. We are members of the United Motorcoach Association and the American Bus Association, and we are UMA AssurClean certified. You are welcome to look us up before you book.
How much luggage, equipment, or band instruments fit underneath?
The H3-45 carries 460 cubic feet of underfloor storage and the X3-45 carries 380, plus overhead bins inside. That is enough for a team's gear bags, a band's instruments, or a week of suitcases. Tell us what you are bringing and we will confirm the fit.
Are your drivers CDL-licensed and background-checked for our school district?
Every driver is CDL-certified and background-checked, and we meet the safety standards school districts and athletic departments require. Our DOD approval and MoDOT certification reflect the same vetting. We can provide documentation for your district's files.
Do you have wheelchair-accessible coaches?
Tell us your accessibility needs when you request a quote, including any wheelchair or mobility requirements and how many passengers they affect, and we will match you to the right coach and boarding plan for your group.
What happens if the bus breaks down on the day of our event?
We inspect and maintain every coach on a rigorous schedule, so this is rare. If a mechanical issue ever does come up, we have replacement protocols and 24/7 support. Because we own our fleet outright, we can move faster than any out-of-town broker scrambling to find a substitute.
